Fair Trade

Your Alternative

What is Fair Trade?

Fair Trade is a positive and viable alternative trading model. Its primary goal is to build more equitable and sustainable relationships with small-scale co-operative producers in the South. It is a trading partnership based on dialogue, transparency and respect that results in improved standards of living for producers and high-quality products for consumers.

Our Cocoa Camino products ensure a fair deal for producers by:

  • Guaranteeing fair prices to producers;
  • Paying premiums to improve social conditions in producer communities;
  • Paying producers in advance to assist in long-term planning and pre-harvest financing;
  • Supporting democratic participation in farmer-owned co-operatives;
  • Ensuring that there is no forced labour;
  • Supporting sustainable farming practices.

100% Fair Traders

Fair Trade is at the heart of every Cocoa Camino product. We at La Siembra are 100% committed to Fair Trade and ensure that every single one of our products carries the Fair Trade certification logo. This allows you the consumer to know that all our claims are audited and verified by an independent third party certifier. In other words, each of our products allows you to indulge in a little decadence while supporting and respecting producers and their families.

Now that’s Decadence with a Difference.

Who certifies our products?

All of our Cocoa Camino products are Fair Trade Certified under the Fair Trade Labelling Organizations (FLO) International certification system. TransFair Canada licenses the use of the Fair Trade Certified consumer logo and certifies labelled products in Canada. This is the logo:

As 100% Fair Traders, we also belong to Fair Trade organizations that work to assist organizations in expanding their Fair Trade practices and link Fair Trade organizations around the world to support trade justice. We are members of:
